Dominique and Daniel, two day wedding

Cave blessing near Ingleton, a garden party/casino night and disco at Horton in Ribblesdale Village Hall, Church service and reception at Austwick, the Yorkshire Dales

I have put a lot of photographs in this gallery. Over two days and 30 hours of celebrations I took rather a lot of photographs. This was a wedding like no other with so many personal touches completed by a lively group of friends who knew how to party. When Dominique and Daniel told me they were having a cave blessing the day before their wedding I was intrigued, and so pleased to be chosen as their wedding photographer for the weekend. The first real hint of the celebrations to follow came with the invitation, dress code for the cave ~ onesies and wellies. At times there seemed to be more children than adults. Reverend Ian Greenhalgh conducted the service with lots of actions for everone to join in, the rings were exchanged in climbing dry sacks, a wonderful glow of reflected light lighting up Dominiques face. A great atmosphere.

The casino night dress code was black tie 'Think James Bond'. With only a few hours sleep between the two days it is the most exhausting photo session I've done to date, but the energy given off by the guests was infectious. I loved every minute of it, never really knowing what to expect next.

Have I said elsewhere that I like to take the fly on the wall documentary shots? Well for this disco, forget that. I was in the thick of it half bopping to the beat to get the timing right and everyone giving it the max - playing to the camera, I might add. The dancing was top notch, whether they were 'waaken 500 miyells' or doing the Time Warpe, yeaaaaah.

I'm sure The Parish Church of the Epiphany in Austwick has never seen so many wellington boots with children's wellies holding flower displays placed all the way down the aisle and in each of the windows.

To finish off the day everyone joined in a ceilidh, which started with the usual confusion and ended in pure entertainment and mayhem as the guys tried to run the feet off each other. I stood in the middle of the floor whenever I felt it was safe (!) and took endless images of the action.

A wonderful wedding ~ I wish Dominique and Daniel every happiness together.

I have so many favouite moments from the two days, though the disco dancing has to be right up there. Hmm, maybe hearing Wallace and Grommet theme as Dominique walked down the aisle, that is certainly etched into my memory. My favouite wedding photograph from this wedding is the couple sharing a joke during Daniel'sspeech - or are they laughing at something he just said?

With everybody dressed up for the casino night it seemed a shame not to take some informal formal photos. I took a small set of studio lights along and set them up at one end of the village hall. The children were great fun (including the Best Man with broom).
